What is mediation? Mediation is a process where a neutral facilitator helps individuals come to an agreement that meets the needs of both. The process and the outcome are controlled by the individuals, not the mediator and not the court. The mediator acts as a guide who helps to ensure that all the relevant questions are answered and that everyone is treated fairly.
SUPPORT FROM START TO CERTAINTY
All couples and families experience difficult times. For some, this includes a separation or divorce. If you are contemplating or in the midst of a separation or divorce you know how frightening it can be and how easy it is to become paralyzed. The decisions you need to make have lifelong implications for you as well as your children, and they need to be made at a time when your emotional resources are at their lowest. We can help make it easier. At Cardinal Counselling and Mediation, we understand the disruption that comes with a separation and offer a full range of services to provide support from start to certainty.
COUNSELLING RELATED TO SEPARATION AND DIVORCE:
All couples and families experience difficult times. While these difficulties can seem overwhelming, our experienced and professional counsellors can help. If you are uncertain as to whether a separation is the right course of action for you, getting support can be very helpful. It can also be helpful to have outside support during a very hard time.
As you proceed through a separation or divorce, you will be faced with many difficult and often intertwined decisions. These decisions relate to virtually all aspects of your life – your assets, your home, your debts and, of course, your children. We will work with you to ensure that you have the knowledge, resources and support you need to make those decisions and take the steps necessary to complete your separation and begin rebuilding your lives.
Our unique mediation process will guide you through the steps necessary to bring closure and to create a path that allows each of you to begin moving on with your lives. Our experienced team of mediators and lawyers can answer your questions and connect you to whatever additional services you require, from determining the value of your home and pension to arranging counselling for your children.
Cardinal Separation and Divorce Services provides a one-stop shop for all your family law needs. We can help by providing mediation services, a draft separation agreement and parenting plan (if needed) and independent legal advice. We have lawyers who work with us on a regular basis and provide a reduced fee for service if you use Cardinal Counselling for your separation agreement.
