John Thompson, M.S.W., R.S.W.

John attended the University of Waterloo and obtained his B.A. in 1989.  He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1993, after completing a Master of Social Work degree.  He has been employed both as a social worker and a social work supervisor at Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region.  In 1998, he joined the clinical panel of the Office of the Children's Lawyer and began working in private practice. 

John is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the Ontario Association of Social Workers, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.  He has had extensive training and experience in helping parents and children deal with separation and divorce.  

John offers a number of services through Cardinal Counselling and Mediation; Section 30 Assessments, Mediation, Parenting Coordination, and other Alternative Dispute Resolution services as required.
