Sarah is a practicing family law lawyer at Smith Valeriote Law Firm LLP in Guelph, Ontario. She obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law where she initially gained extensive mediation experience. Sarah obtained her Honours degree in Psychology with a specialization in Sexuality, Family, and Marriage Issues at the University of Waterloo. Sarah is a collaboratively trained lawyer with a special interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation.

Sarah is a volunteer mediator with Community Justice Initiatives in Kitchener and employs the principles of mediation and collaboration in her own family law practice. Sarah is currently working towards completing her Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Conrad Grebel College at the University of Waterloo.

Sarah is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Association for Family Mediators. Sarah is also a former member of Family Mediation Canada.

Sarah is able to assist parties who seek to resolve their family disputes in the most equitable and reasonable manner possible. Sarah’s legal background teamed with her mediation skills afford clients the opportunity to employ a mediator who is uniquely suited to appreciate the legalities and sensitivities inherent in family law disputes.
