Alcohol and Drug Day Treatment Program

Drug and alcohol issues are prevalent in our community and it is often difficult to know where to turn for confidential, supportive services.  Cardinal Counselling and Mediation is pleased to have partnered with Prodigal Community Services in order to offer a day treatment program.

The alcohol and drug day treatment program begins with an individual assessment conducted by Dr. Bill Jacyk, MD and Paul Laurie, IDADC.  All participants receive an individualized treatment plan and the opportunity to set goals.  If appropriate, a prescription may also be provided.

The program consists of group education, skill development and relapse prevention planning.

While the day treatment program is designed to be delivered in a group format, individual sessions are also available upon request.  An individual program is medically supervised and contains similar information.

This is a program that is also available to adolescents.

There is also an Aftercare group that is offered for individuals who have successfully completed the Alcohol and Drug Day Treatment Program or who have completed other programming and are in need of additional supports.
